1995/96 Honda RS125 GP Bike for sale

Price: $4000 OBO, located in Colorado but willing to deliver or ship (for cost) if you're not local. I will be headed out to Alabama (Birmingham and Talladega) in February as well, and can bring the bike to anywhere along that route for free.

If interested, send an email to rs125@almostevil.org or call 720-266-4074 and ask for David.

This is a great bike and I hate to sell it, but I've had neither the time nor the money to race it in the past three years, so the time has come to let it go to a better home.

The bike is a recently rebuilt 1995 RS125 with 1996-spec motor. The engine has been completely rebuilt with the RS Cycles rebuild kit - new piston, new crank, new water pump, all new seals, all new bearings, freshly re-plated cylinder, etc. It also has a new clutch basket and new clutch plates (fibers and steels). The engine has been heat cycled three times and run up and down the street a couple of times to confirm that everything works, but is otherwise completely fresh. Although the frame is a '95, the motor was updated to 1996-7 specs before I purchased the bike and runs great on VP C-12 or equivalent and Motul 800 roadrace two-stroke oil.

I took the bike almost completely apart during the rebuild process to clean it up and double-check all the bearings and grease all the linkages. Everything was cleaned and re-greased with Silkolene RG-2.

The suspension was rebuilt, revalved and resprung by Marcus McBain at RPS back when he still worked with Traxxion Dynamics, and was set up for a 180 lb rider. Although it was done several years ago, the suspension has only two practice days and one race weekend on it.

The original bodywork on the bike was damaged in a crash at PPIR. I purchased fresh bodywork (the red and white stuff in the pictures) but never got around to painting it or installing it. The old bodywork is dirty but repairable with a little bit of time and fiberglass. The bike itself needs repainting, including the tank and tail section. The rearsets are brand-new extended Hjelm kit. Frame and axle sliders are from EK Motorsports.

The expansion chamber is nearly-new, with one race weekend on it. The stinger was slightly damaged in the crash but was bent back into shape. The sliencer has some skid damage on it but is otherwise OK.

Spares kit includes:

I'd also be willing to throw in the AMB 260 timing beacon pictured above if I still have it and you're willing to pay the asking price for the bike.
